What is the role of National Scout Organizations?
National Scout Organizations are responsible for reviewing, endorsing and promoting Scout-led projects that are submitted to the Scout Donation Platform. National Scout Organizations are recommended to appoint an “NSO Administrator” to act as a key focal point within each NSO to support grant management activities. This includes supporting the transfer of funds raised through the Scout Donation Platform to the relevant NSO, and reporting the outcomes of the project in World Scouting’s grant management system Fluxx.
How do Scouts submit projects through the Scout Donation Platform?
Scouts can submit projects to the Scout Donation Platform by logging into the system using their Scout.org email account to create and submit a project
using the form on the platform. After a project is submitted by a
Scout, it must be reviewed and endorsed by their National Scout
Organization before it is published.
How do National Scout Organizations review and endorse projects?
Once
a Scout submits a projects to the Scout Donation Platform, a member of
WOSM’s grants management team in the specific Region will contact the
relevant NSO Administrator to ask them to review the project, and
suggest any recommendations for improvement.
When
the project is ready, and the necessary financial and banking
information has been provided by the National Scout Organization to the
Regional Support Centre staff, the project can be endorsed and published
on the Scout Donation Platform.
How can Scouts raise funds for their community project?
Once
a project is published on the Scout Donation Platform, it is ready for
fundraising. Scouts and National Scout Organizations can work together
to promote the project, and ask their networks to donate to the project.

How can National Scout Organizations raise funds for emergency response?
National
Scout Organizations can use the Scout Donation Platform for large-scale
emergency response and relief efforts following a disaster or
humanitarian crisis. National Scout Organizations that wish to use the
platform for this purpose should contact their Regional Support Centre
to coordinate the setup of an emergency fundraising campaign.
How much funds can be raised for a project?
Individual Scouts, Scout groups or Scout Leaders can raise up to 5,000 USD for their community service projects. Typically projects with smaller fundraising targets, have a higher chance of being fully funded.
For
National Scout Organizations raising funds for emergency response and
relief efforts, there is no limit to the amount of funds that can be
raised
through the Scout Donation Platform. The fundraising target will be set
based on the size and scale of the emergency, and can be raised as
required based on the ongoing response.
What happens to projects that do not reach their fundraising target?

project must reach its target fundraising goal by the end of the
project timeline in order to receive funding. Projects that do not reach
their fundraising goal by the end of the project timeline will not be
funded, and will be unpublished from the platform.
What happens when a project gets fully funded?
Congratulations!
When a project meets its fundraising goal before the end of the project
timeline, the NSO Administration must record the funded project in
World Scouting’s grant management system Fluxx with support from the
Regional Support Centre staff. The Regional Support Centre staff process
the payment using the banking details provided by the NSO
Administrator, who confirms the funding is received.

Organizations to use. 100% of the donations raised through the platform
will go directly to Scouts to support community projects. Donors do have the option of adding 2.5% to their donate to support Raisely, the platform powering the Scout Donation Platform.
How do projects get reported?
The
NSO Administrator will work with the Scout to produce and submit a
project report in World Scouting’s grant management system Fluxx,
including photos, videos and testimonials of the project’s impact. This
step must be completed one month after the project closes, and helps to
build the project management and leadership skills among young people.
The project reports are used to provide donors and supporters with updates about the key achievements and challenges of the project, and to create
stories of community impact that can be shared on World Scouting’s
communications channels to inspire other Scouts and National Scout
Organizations to use the platform.
How can my National Scout Organization request support?
To
request and receive support on how to use the Scout Donation Platform,

Support Centre for more information. Staff members can help National
