Simple Motions
During the Youth Forum, the votes are mainly simple motions. Some examples include voting on the Recommendations, Amendments to the Recommendations, and other decision by the Youth Forum.The vote results for the simple motions at the Youth Forum are calculated using Simple Majority of the votes cast.
Each Member Organization has a right to two (2) votes at the Youth Forum. As such, two (2) credentials will be given to each delegation allowing each delegate to vote with one vote each.
Here are the steps of how a delegation can cast their vote for simple motions:
- Login to the eVoting system, select the “Asia-Pacific Regional Youth Forum” event, and be ready to cast your vote.
- When a vote is activated it will show on the left side of the screen including the progress bar and timer. Click on the active vote. The details of the selected vote will appear on the right side of your screen with the options to cast your vote.
- Select the desired vote option of in favour, against or abstain.
- Carefully review your vote allocation is correct.
- Confirm your vote by clicking the “Confirm Vote” button.
- A confirmation that your vote has been submitted will appear.
- Once the vote is closed, the results will appear. You can see the overall results of the vote, plus how you voted.
Election
During the Youth Forum, delegations will also vote to elect seven (7) Youth Representatives. Each delegation has a total of two (2) votes PER seat to be occupied. As the Youth Forum elects seven (7) Youth Representatives, each delegation has a total of 14 votes (2 votes times 7 seats). Since each delegate has a voting credential for the Youth Forum, this means that each delegate will have 7 votes total (1 vote times 7 seats).
Here are the steps of how a delegation can cast their vote for the election of Youth Representatives:
- Login to the eVoting system, select the “Asia-Pacific Regional Youth Forum” event, and be ready to cast your vote.
- The vote will be opened during plenary and the timing that the vote will remain open for is at the discretion of the Chairperson.
- When the vote is activated it will show on the left side of the screen including the progress bar and timer. Click on the active vote. The details of the selected vote will appear on the right side of your screen with the options to cast your vote.
- The election is a secret vote, indicated by the “eye” icon. This also means that your vote is anonymous and how you vote is not associated to your account in the system.
- Select the 7 desired candidates to elect. Each candidate cannot receive more than 1 vote.
- Carefully review your vote allocation is correct.
- Confirm your vote by clicking the “Confirm Vote” button.
- A confirmation that your vote has been submitted will appear.
- Once the vote is closed, the results will remain unpublished.
- The results will NOT be published on the eVoting system, but will be announced during plenary. The 7 Regional Youth Representatives with the most votes will be elected and clearly announced during plenary in alphabetical order of their country name. The overall number of votes each candidate received will not be published.
