What is the role of the Safe from Harm review?

“The purpose of the Safe from Harm panels is to review and evaluate if an NSO/NSA is compliant with Safe from Harm requirements, based on the information submitted as part of their respective Safe from Harm self-assessment and through Annual Reporting to World Scouting.”

Who is part of the Safe from Harm regional panel?

The regional panel is 
  • Co-led by a volunteer and a staff. 
  • Composed of 3-7 volunteer members appointed by the Region, bound by a confidentiality agreement. 
  • Assigned a Staff support as appropriate from the respective Regional Support Centre, appointed by the Regional Director. 
  • To limit conflicts of interest and to maintain consistency across all regions each regional panel will comprise of individuals (volunteers and staff) from both inside and outside of the region. 

 

What is the link between the regional panel and the membership support team? 

The regional panels are linked with the Membership Support team, as their staff co-leads are part of the Membership Support team within the WSB. They draw the link between the regional panel and all the other areas in Safe from Harm.
