Accessing the Directory and Data Portal

The WOSM Members Portal comprises of the World Scouting Directory and NSO Data Portal. This platform is the one stop location for official information of WOSM’s structures and Member Organizations. Digital transformation and innovation are crucial to the continued quality of the support available to National Scout Organizations (NSOs). Making data and information easily accessible and transparent through the WOSM Members Portal supports better decision-making and services across our Movement.

The World Scouting Directory is where you can access all contact information of WOSM! Organisation information is more accessible and up to date.

The NSO Data Portal brings together important information about Member Organizations and offers a way to share annual reporting information with WOSM.

Platform status

Are you facing any difficulties in accessing the WOSM Members Portal? You can visit status.scout.org to see if the platform is down. If it is not identified as being down, please email the team at reporting@scout.org for support.

Visibility and access rights

Part of the World Scouting Directory is publicly accessible without needing to login or have access rights. This public information is only of organisations which are marked to be visible, including all Member Organizations. To access information of persons, users need to login and have access rights to the Directory.

To view the NSO Data Portal, users need to login and have access rights as no information is currently publicly accessible.

Public Access

Can only see certain organisation profiles and generic organisation information on the Directory.

Cannot access the Data Portal.

View Access

Can login to view all organisation profiles on the Directory including information on appointees.

Can also view person profiles and any contact information that has been made visible to all users or to users in the same Region.

Can login to view the profile of their own organisation on the Data Portal.

NSO Admin Access

Can login to view all organisation profiles on the Directory including information on appointees.

Can also view person profiles and any contact information that has been made visible to all users or to users in the same Region.

Additional access rights allow for updating certain information for their own organisation and access to exports.

Can login to view and update the profile of their own organisation on the Data Portal.

Regional and World Committee Access

Can login to view all organisation profiles on the Directory including information on appointees.

Can also view person profiles and any contact information that has been made visible to all users or to users in the same Region.

Can login to view the profiles of all organisations on the Data Portal.

World Scout Bureau Staff Access

Can login to view all organisation profiles on the Directory including information on appointees.

Can also view person profiles and all contact information that has been entered in the Directory.

Additional access rights allow for the download of additional exports.

Can login to view the profiles of all organisations on the Data Portal and update certain information like internal records of interactions with organisations.

Logging in

To login to the WOSM Members Portal, users can navigate to directory.scout.org and login using their scout.org login credentials. Access rights are managed manually by administrators of the World Scout Bureau.

Requesting access

Individuals requiring access to the Members Portal should follow these steps:

Register an account on scout.org if needed (register here)
NSO official contact to make request to reporting@scout.org
Identify in the request the registered email address and which access to grant (view only or admin)
Receive acknowledgement on access being granted by the Members Portal Support Team

Members Portal Admins

Members Portal Admins by default are the International Commissioner or other official contact with WOSM. Official contacts with WOSM are identified by the asterisk* in the Directory. These admins would be able to keep their NSO profile up to date. It is required to request for access granting and removal by contacting reporting@scout.org. You can tell if you have admin access by seeing the “Administration” tab once you have logged in.

For Federations, the Members Portal Admin also has administrative access to all the NSAs within their Federation. Each NSA can also have their own Members Portal Admin.

Additional admins

It is suggested that NSOs limit their Member Portal Admins to no more than two or three, which helps ensure responsibility, integrity, and quality of the information updating. Special arrangements can be made if needed.
