How are the new brand elements protected?

The new brand elements are protected through trademark registration and protection which has been filed with the relevant intellectual property authorities globally to ensure exclusive ownership rights and to prevent unauthorised use by others. Having ownership over our brand will enable us to enforce protection and any infringement of the brand usage through legal action. The protection for the current brand elements will also be extended for the next 10 years to ensure concurrent protection of our trademarks while we transition fully to the new brand elements. 

The new brand elements are protected through trademark and copyright protection which has been registered with the relevant legal authorities. The brand trademarks and copyrights for the current brand elements will also be renewed next year to extend their protection for the next 10 years to ensure these also remain protected. 

After the 43rd World Scout Conference, World Scouting will undertake a review of all commercial and non-commercial licenses held by National Scout Organizations to determine if they meet the current legal standards and comply with the refreshed World Scouting brand elements. Any changes to these agreements will be communicated to Member Organizations with enough time for them to make the necessary transitions. We will also undertake a full review of current partnership agreements to ensure they are updated to reflect the refreshed brand elements.

Any changes to existing agreements will be communicated to National Scout Organizations with sufficient time for them to transition effectively.

Moving forward, our licensing agreements, moving forward will clearly outline the proper use and protection of our brand elements by third parties. This multi-faceted approach ensures our new brand elements remain secure and are used consistently across all channels.

These actions will ensure that  our new brand elements are protected, used exclusively in compliance with our legal standards and maintain their integrity and distinctiveness.
